PRU Climate Action Project: United Way Ghana organizes Environmental Sustainability Club orientation for students in Chorkor.
The United Way Ghana team facilitated an orientation session for the Environmental Club members of Chemunaa Basic School, Mamprobi South 4 Basic School, Chorkor Presby Basic School, St. George’s Anglican Basic School, and St. Moses School, which are the schools participating in the environmental sustainability aspect of the PRU Climate Action project. The orientation session is an opportunity for the students to gain knowledge of the scope of the club activities that they will be engaged with over the duration of the project.
United Way Ghana and Prudential Life Insurance Ghana believe that children are important agents in ensuring the sustainability of the environment, and the school clubs are design to stimulate the interest in recycling and upcycling and promoting health and wellbeing of the society.
PRU Climate Action Project: United Way Ghana facilitates NHIS Registration for 200 Adults and 100 children in Chorkor.
In April, the United Way Ghana facilitated the registration of 200 adults and 100 children in Chorkor community on the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) to help promote access to healthcare services for residents of this deprived community whenever it is needed. The registration, which is part of the outlined goals of the PRU Climate Action project, was carried out by staff of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
The registration which was hosted by the Pentecost Church Chorkor, placed keen emphasis on pregnant women and the elderly. The team also provided Mosquito Treated Nets to pregnant women and the aged within the community, which will further achieve the aims of the health advocacy to protect the target beneficiaries in the community. There was also a health education session facilitated by the team from the Ghana Health Service, Accra Metropolitan Office, Accra.
A big thank you to Prudential Life Insurance Ghana for funding this impactful project, and to National Health Insurance Authority for facilitating the process.
