This impactful event included engaging climate action sessions where students learned about the importance of environmental stewardship, the impact of climate change, and practical steps they can take to protect the planet.</p><p><span style="font-size: 1rem;">Following the sessions, our team and students planted beautiful ornamental plants around the school grounds, bringing a touch of nature to their environment and creating a greener, more vibrant space for learning. This initiative not only beautifies the school but also reinforces the importance of nurturing and caring for our natural surroundings.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1rem;"><br></span></p><p id="2"><b>United Way Ghana and Cummins Ghana Limited Launch the Refurbished Ebenezer Senior High School Library</b></p><p><img src="https://unitedwaygh.org/2024_november_newsletter/November%20-%20UWG%20&%20Cummins.png" style="width: 100%;"><br></p><p>United Way Ghana was thrilled to launch the refurbished Ebenezer Senior High School Library. This incredible initiative was made possible through the generous funding of Cummins Ghana Limited, with technical support from the Ghana Library Authority. The refurbished library was launched by Mr. Patrice Ndzana, the General Manager of Cummins Ghana Limited.</p><p><span style="font-size: 1rem;">The refurbished library now has a capacity for 100 students and has been equipped with over 1000 books and other modern facilities to inspire learning, creativity, and growth for students, fostering a culture of reading and academic excellence. A washroom facility was also added to the refurbished library to ensure students feel comfortable using the library.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1rem;">During the launch ceremony, executives and members of the school’s Literacy and Debating Club were inducted and given the responsibility to champions the development of the club in the school.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 1rem;"><br></span></p><div><div id="3"><b>United Way Ghana organizes International Men’s Day activity for Staff of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC at St. Kizito School, Accra</b></div><div><br></div><div><img src="https://unitedwaygh.org/2024_november_newsletter/November%20-%20International%20Men%20Day.png" style="width: 100%;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>In commemoration of International Men’s Day, United Way Ghana organized a mentoring session for Staff of Standard Chartered Bank Ghana PLC and students from St. Kizito School and the Nima Cluster of Schools. This event hosted 300 boys in an inspiring session that focused on mentoring, empowering, and fostering positive role models for the next generation of leaders. </div><div><br></div><div>Through an interactive panel discussion moderated by a student and group sessions, the boys learned about leadership, responsibility, and the importance of values that drive success. This collaboration aims to drive impact initiatives that promote green practices, environmental awareness, and sustainable development across communities. Together, United Way Ghana and the Ghana Stock Exchange are committed to creating a healthier planet and foster a sustainable future for generations to come. </div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div><div id="5"><b>United Way Ghana participates in the Ring the Bell for Climate Action Event hosted by the Ghana Stock Exchange </b></div><div><br></div><div><img src="https://unitedwaygh.org/2024_november_newsletter/November%20-%20UWG%20&%20GSE.png" style="width: 100%;"><br></div><div><br></div><div>United Way Ghana participated in the Ghana Stock Exchange’s “Ring the Bell for Climate Action” event. This event also marked the official commencement of our partnership with the Ghana Stock Exchange to promote climate action initiatives in Ghana in 2025. </div><div><br></div><div>During the event, United Way Ghana facilitated key activities which included;</div><div>1.<span style="white-space:pre">	</span>Organizing young learners from La Enobal and Labone A&B Basic School to showcase products developed through our Environmental Sustainability programs in partnership with Vivo Energy Ghana.</div><div>2.<span style="white-space:pre">	</span>The Executive Director of United Way Ghana joined the Deputy Managing Director of Ghana Stock Exchange, the Principal Operation Officer of IFC Ghana, the Head of Operations for Central Securities Depositories, and other executives to ring the bell for Climate Action.</div><div><br></div><div>Together, United Way Ghana is working with Ghana Stock Exchange to foster sustainable environmental initiatives that promote climate action. </div></div></div><div><br></div><div><br></div>
