Cummins Ghana and United Way Ghana Commissions Refurbished Library and New Kindergarten Blocks at Adum Presby School, Kumasi, Ashanti Region

Cummins Ghana, in partnership with United Way Ghana, has officially commissioned the refurbished Library and newly constructed Kindergarten Blocks at Adum Presby School, Kumasi, Ashanti Region. This remarkable project stands as a testament to the power of partnership and purpose.
The newly furnished library will serve as a learning sanctuary, nurturing curiosity and literacy, while the four kindergarten classrooms offer a safe, engaging, and child-friendly environment that supports early childhood development.
The handing over ceremony brought together community leaders, school authorities, students, and the team from Cummins Ghana, all united in celebrating this impactful milestone. Speeches, performances, and a tour of the new facilities highlighted the day, reinforcing a shared commitment to education and community growth.

United Way Ghana recently participated in a 4-day technical training at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research – Institute of Industrial Research (CSIR–IIR) on Assessing Cook Stove Performance using the Kitchen Test Performance (KTP) protocol.
This training is a strategic step in our efforts to:✨ Mitigate climate change by reducing firewood consumption in local homes.✨ Improve public health by addressing indoor air pollution and the health risks associated with smoke inhalation.
Equipped with this expertise, our team is better positioned to champion clean cooking solutions that protect the environment, safeguard health, and advance sustainable development in Ghana. We are grateful to CSIR–IIR for their expertise and collaboration in building the technical skills needed to drive meaningful change.

United Way Ghana, with funding from Henkel, hosted the second edition of the Youth Empowerment Program at Takoradi, Western Region, Ghana. The second edition of this project hosted over 40 participants who participated in Interactive Session which provided a platform for participants to engage directly with facilitators and mentors, exchange ideas, and develop practical insights to support their entrepreneurial and professional journeys.
Over the course of the 3-days event, we were inspired by the level of enthusiasm and participation reflected by the participants which highlights their commitment to shaping a brighter future. The program is sponsored by Henkel and proudly supported by Western Serene Atlantic Hotel, Afua Anoah Hotel Apartment, and Ghana Library Authority Takoradi, reflecting the power of partnership in driving youth development and entrepreneurship in Ghana.
The event was followed by a week of one-on-one sessions for the participants, facilitated by our Guest Speaker, Mr. Alexander Klar from Henkel, and other seasoned professionals. The Henkel and United Way Ghana Youth Empowerment Program is designed to provided entrepreneurship and leadership training required by young entrepreneurs and innovators in Ghana and also provide seed funding to facilitate the commencement of their business, or help scale their business to the next level.
