United Way Ghana Team attends the Global United Way Together We Thrive Conference in Orlando, Florida, United States of America

The United Way Ghana team is happy to have our Executive Director, Ms. Faustina Abbey, and Impact Lead, Mrs. Grace Braimah Foli, present at the Together We Thrive Conference in Orlando, Florida. This conference brought together over 1,100 United Way leaders from across 28+ countries. In the words of our Executive Director, Ms. Faustina Abbey, “being part of this global gathering has offered me countless “aha” moments, reminding me of the immense power we hold when we stay united to thrive.”Key takeaways by our Executive Director:

  • During a visit to Heart of Florida United Way Jeff Hayward, President & CEO, shared a compelling message: Running a nonprofit must be strategic, with business continuity and sustainability at the core.
  • United Way exists to bring hope and restoration to individuals and families. We make this happen through collaborations with corporate organizations, volunteers, and community based organizations. If we fail to remain viable, the critical support we provide disappears. This, was echoed passionately by The CEO and President of United Way, Angela F. Williams, during her opening remarks.

This experience was both inspiring and grounding for the United Way Ghana team present. As leaders in the social impact space, we are reminded that innovation, resilience, and unity are not just nice-to-haves, they are essentials for the future.
