United Way Ghana with support from the Riedman Family implemented the 18th edition of the Nyansapo Scholarship Program to 90 selected students from 6 schools – Tinkong M/A Basic School, Tinkong Presby School, Tinkong SDA School, St. Paul's Methodist School, Otariso Basic School, and Nyame Bekyere Basic School – all in Tinkong, Eastern Region, Ghana. This scholarship initiative supported the students with school uniforms, bags, textbooks, exercise books, stationeries, and shoes, required to making learning more accessible for these children. The beneficiaries were selected following a rigorous needs assessment.
We also hosted a parents’ sensitization session for guardians of the beneficiaries, which was facilitated by the representative of the Ghana Education Service. This session was critical to acquiring parental support in ensuring the proper use of these scholarship materials for the effective learning of the children.
