IMPROVING PEOPLE'S HEALTH
United Way Ghana’s health program is contributing to advancing UN Sustainable Development Goal 6. We envision stronger and healthier communities as an integral part of ensuring a high quality of life. A specific focus of this is helping vulnerable individuals get better health care by partnering with organizations to provide menstrual health, water and sanitation and community health screening.
Goal: Families and individuals have access to healthcare and improve their health
- 12,200+ participated in medical screening and received medication and other resources to improve their health.
- 400+ school girls educated on menstrual health and provided with packs of sanitary pad to enable them manage their menstruation
- 10,00+ educated on sanitation and personal hygiene, this empowered them to address all WASH related issues including COVID-19
- 1,800+ screened and educated on healthy living and provided with medication to stay healthy.
