United Way Ghana is devoted to making real social impact within local communities in three focus areas: education, health and income generation – the key building blocks for a good quality of life in a thriving community. We envision a society where every person is empowered to lead an informed, healthy and productive life.
Developing cross-sector collaborations with local communities, business organizations, philanthropists, government and volunteers help us deliver lasting impact and social change in disadvantaged Ghanaian communities. We believe that through our collaborative work and commitment, we can ensure every individual is able to live a life of dignity.
A LOCAL MOVEMENT WITH A GLOBAL FOOTPRINT
United Way Ghana is a member of the United Way Worldwide network, the largest privately-funded non-profit in the world with nearly, 1800 communities across more than 40 countries and territories worldwide.
United Way fights for the health, education and financial stability of every person in every community. We win by forging unlikely partnerships, by finding new solutions to existing problems, by mobilizing the best resources and by inspiring individuals to join the fight against their community’s daunting social challenges.
To create the lasting change that benefits all, United Way Ghana recognizes the need for the engagement of a high-performing Governing Council and Executive Director, who work interdependently and collaboratively to grow the capacity of United Way Ghana. This leads to setting realistic goals, far-reaching and comprehensive strategic plans, and ultimately, outstanding impact in communities.
OUR OPERATIONAL MODEL: COLLECTIVE COMMUNITY IMPACT IN GHANA
Since its inception, United Way Ghana has positioned itself as the unifying force that brings together community leaders, organized labour, faith-based groups, corporations, non-governmental organizations and government agencies to effect sweeping change that builds a better life and a stronger community.
